Without furthering and deepening our education we cannot improve the planet on which we live. A college education provides us with the knowledge and skills to accomplish any task. We can contribute to the effort to stop global warming by exploring alternative fuels and finding new and innovative ways to reduce our global and individual carbon footprints. Together we can solve this problem. The first step to is to analyze the causes of the problem and that analysis requires knowledge obtained through a college education. Nick, please give me money so I can contribute to the effort!

military scholarshipsCollege is important to the youth of today because universities, in general, are on the cutting edge of progressive debate and research. Higher education serves as a place of maturation for my own environment-based beliefs, commitments and actions. College nurtures the theories behind my practices of a bike-only lifestyle, local, organic and second-hand purchases, as well as conscientious water and electricity consumption.
College is important because education opens up pathways and reveals ideas to young people they never had known before. Education provides them with better jobs and also allows them to develop in the area they are interested in. It also allows their mind to grow, to grasp new ideas, learn about other people's thoughts, and develop their own. The growth and knowledge a person can receive by going to college is extremely beneficial. I have already gained some of these benefits while attending college. I like to call the mental growth "brain stretching," because that is the way it feels.
